End-of-Life Services
We at the SPCA know there are few things that are more difficult than making the decision to say goodbye to a beloved pet.
However, because the cost can be an obstacle for many pet owners, to support you in your time of need the Chemung County SPCA provides afforable, caring, compassionate end-of-life services for your pet.
We regret that you will not be able to stay with your pet during these services. If you would prefer to be with your pet, we recommend you make an appointment with your veterinarian so that you may choose to be present at the time of euthanasia. Your pet may benefit from being in a more familiar environment.
When are End-of-Life Services offered?
We typically schedule these appointments Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings at 9:00am, 9:30am, 10:00am, or 10:30am.

Pricing
Small mammals, Avian, Reptiles, and Amphibians:
$50.00 to take the remains home
$70.00 for a group cremation
$135.00 for a private cremation and their ashes returned
Cats & Rabbits:
$60.00 to take the remains home
$100.00 for a group cremation
$175.00 for a private cremation and their ashes returned
Dogs up to 50 pounds:
$100.00 to take the remains home
$150.00 for a group cremation
$250.00 for a private cremation and their ashes returned
Dogs over 50 pounds:
$130.00 to take the remains home
$200.00 for a group cremation
$300.00 for a private cremation and their ashes returned

Our compassionate staff will provide a peaceful and loving space for your pet during their last moments.
If you are planning on taking your pet home to bury, we will provide a secluded waiting area for you.
