The Chemung County SPCA has been providing our community’s schools with humane education programs for over 20 years. Our program can cater to children in Pre-K through eighth grade and focuses on three primary objectives:
- Understanding the needs of companion animals and the associated responsibilities in reference to their care
- Encouraging students to use critical thinking skills
- Educating children on identifying and reporting animal abuse
- No program fee – kids learn valuable life lessons about compassion, responsibility and kindness at no cost to your institution
- No travel required – we bring the field trip directly to the classroom, eliminating transportation planning and costs
- Meets learning standards – our humane education program is specifically tailored to supplement NYS classroom standards
- Makes learning fun – children of all ages love animals and will enjoy the hands-on experience that our program provides
