Humane Eduction Programs

The mission of the Chemung County SPCA’s humane education program is to provide learning opportunities that encourage animal advocacy and foster compassion, responsibility, respect, and empathy for both animals and people.

We believe that humane education is key to teaching children to become responsible pet parents and more compassionate citizens of the planet.

By understanding the interconnections among people, animals, and our environment, children learn to think critically and to become problem solvers.

Humane education isn't just for children. The humane education programs at the SPCA are specifically designed for various age groups from pre-schoolers up to adults and are based on creative activities that make learning fun.

For Schools and Organizations

Matt Guagliardo, our Community Educator, is available to come into your classroom, school, or organization to offer quality humane education programming.

School programs are designed with NYS Learning Standards in mind.
