Humane education continues to be an essential part of a child’s instruction. Teaching young people kindness toward animals is an integral step in teaching compassion and respect for one another – studies have shown that children who learn these lessons mature into caring, empathetic adults.
The Chemung County SPCA has been providing our community’s schools with humane education programs for over 20 years. Our program can cater to children in Pre-K through eighth grade and focuses on three primary objectives:

To schedule the SPCA Humane Education Program in your classroom, please contact the Education Coordinator directly by phone at (607) 732-1827 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org with three possible dates for the visit. Matt will contact you to confirm the date and time for the program. Programs for Pre-K to second grade run approximately 30 minutes; programs for third grade and above run approximately 45 minutes. The program is offered year-round but is very popular during the cooler months, so be sure book your visit soon! We look forward to visiting with your students!
