The Chemung County SPCA visits locations all over the area to help promote our animals and to educate the community about animal welfare. 

If your business, organization, school or community group is interested in having the SPCA present at an event, please contact the Offsite Event Coordinator, Wendy Jackson, at (607) 732-1827, Ext. 210. SPCA appearances at events are subject to availability, so be sure to contact the shelter about your event at least 2 weeks prior to allow proper time for scheduling. Chemung County SPCA Fundraiser

PetSmart Adoption Day

Join the Chemung County SPCA as it partners with PetSmart in Horseheads to show off some of its adoptable animals! Representatives from the shelter will be on-site on Saturday, June 1, between noon and 4 p.m. to introduce some of the shelter's cutest and cuddliest. Information about adoption, volunteer programs and upcoming events will also be available. 

All adoptions that occur during the event will result in a $35 donation to the SPCA. We hope to see you there!

 
 

SPCA at Wisner Market

Get out and enjoy some fresh air while the Chemung County SPCA shows off some of our cutest and cuddliest adoptable animals at Wisner Market on Thursday, June 6! 

Shelter staff and volunteers will be on-site in the park in Downtown Elmira from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to introduce our adoptable animals to potential adopters and to answer questions about the shelter and its programs. Be sure to stop by and check out which animals are looking for their fur-ever home!

 
 

Happy Cat Prescription Program

Here at the Chemung County SPCA, we say that two cats are always better than one! It's kitten season and our adoption room is full of cute little fur balls who are all looking for new, purrr-manent homes. 

Until the end of June, we are running our Happy Cat Prescription Program that will allow the adoption of two little spayed/neutered kittens (6 months and younger) for the price of one. You can add two new family members to your home for just $50. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, current shots, FIV/FeLV testing, microchip and one free vet office visit for each kitten. 

 
 

Free Rabies Vaccination Clinic

Are your pets due for a rabies vaccination? A free rabies vaccination clinic will be offered to the public on Saturday, June 15, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Tractor Supply Co., located in the Grand Central Plaza at 1020 Center Street in Horseheads. 

Please be sure to have all cats, dogs and ferrets on-leash and/or properly contained upon arrival. Puppies, kittens and young ferrets must be at least 3 months of age to be vaccinated. Bring previous proof of vaccination with you in order to receive a certificate that is good for 3 years, otherwise the certificate will only be good for one year. All initial vaccinations are good for one year.

Join us at Ann's Happy Hounds Grooming as they will be running a special cat day fro 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, June 21, to help you get your cats looking their very best! 

One day only, Ann is offering HUGE savings on her cat grooming package - it will cost $40 to have your cat beautified (regularly $75). Ten percent of every groom purchased that day will be donated to the Chemung County SPCA!
