Brutal Murder of Southport Cat

A male cat was found beaten to death in Southport on June 24, 2009, in the ball-field near Woodbine Ave.  Susan Wenzel-Bertelsen, Chief Humane Officer, has not seen this kind of brutality in a very long time, and needs the community's help in bringing the person who committed this crime to justice.  A reward is being offered to anyone who has information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person/people responsible for this tragic murder.

    i think that this is absolutley horrible! i do wish info had been given on the approx age and color of cat as we were missing a cat and are always keeping a watchful eye out. we recovered or orange cat a few weeks ago, or at least when my husband went to the spca to idendify him he initaly thought that he was ours. we decided to keep the cat anyway because he was very loveable and seems to fit in at our busy house like he had always been here and was ment to be here. we still miss our cat pickles and hope the cat found beaten to death wasn't ours. do people realixe that animals have owners and have a place in that family and losing a pet is just like loosing a family member. our kids are devestaed anytime one of our pets comes up missing, is sick or passes away. i hope the person or people are found and justice is served.

    This person needs to be found.......this is messed up if u dont like animals dont own them
