The Chemung County SPCA is now offering its brand new "Paws-itive" Dog Training Programs to help the public learn to work with their dog using positive reinforcement training techniques. You may register your dog for one of our classes through the registration form below.
Several resources are also listed with tips for solving the most common behavior problems we see in dogs and cats. Some of these behavior problems are the reason pets get returned or surrendered to shelters. Please consult the links below for more information on the causes of and solutions to common animal behavioral problems. Our knowledgeable instructors create a fun and supportive atmosphere for both you and your dog, all while helping you build a good level of communication, trust and reliable control. Dogs learn quickly and retain the most information when taught through positive reinforcement training methods. Our rewards-based training programs use the most up-to-date, humane and effective methods in dog training today.
